One for the grandparents

Since my baby decided it was okay to grow up without my permission, I figured it was only fitting to commemorate that with a little photo shoot of her very own. She's turning eight next month, and cannot wait to get baptized.

It's funny to actually have a session with one of my own kids now. I used to have to beg, plead, and pay cash to get them to smile for me. Now, they don't seem to mind it quite so much. Pray that this attitude will continue so that years from now I will have more than just pictures of other people to look back on.

I'll tell you something though, it's sessions like this one that are why I wanted to become a photographer in the first place.

LOVE them. Love the girl in them even more.

Join me for a tear or two, won't you?

Sweet fancy moses.

What will I do on that fateful day when she wears another white dress?

Somebody freeze time for me. Please. I need to start stockpiling the Kleenex.

what a gorgeous girl! I love the one where she isn't smiling. She looks so grown up and it gives me hope that one day my kate might smile at me like that for a picture. Congrats on the upcoming birthday!

Your kids are much cuter than you.

She looks beautiful! Great job, you!

I wish we could be with her, and you, on that special upcoming day!

I'm presuming you do this job for money. These are fabulous pictures.

Beautiful pictures. Why don't you live closer to me so I can get you to take pictures of my kids?

Have I mentioned all the rain and gray skies we have here? Is that enticing you?

Aahh.... she is lovely, little Miss H. They grow up so very fast. My baby is getting her driver's permit next week. Good work there Stie.

They are all gorgeous but the one of her running towards you...that one is just amazing. What a beautiful girl. I have tissues stockpiled already - my baby is going to kindergarten in the fall. Sniff.

You got tears from me...she is an absolute angel. Love the dress, the hair and the sweet little bare feet.

Just a couple days ago I was thinking it was about time Hannie should be turning 8. I always remember she is about 3 months shy of a year older than Matthew. Congratulations to you both!

Yes, of course you do it for money! Just spotted your business name on your sidebar. Dur!

Wow, these pictures are so great! Your daughter is beautiful (I think she takes after her mom). And she is so lucky to have such wonderful pictures of this age. I think I just have some really geeky baptism pictures from when I was eight. :)

Hannah's running picture was the one that made me smile widest. Adorable. I caught the red paint on her toe nails and i thought that was incredibly cute!

She is going to be following you everywhere, so save the kleenex for later.

LOVEly pictures :)

I didn't realize we had kids the same age. Levi turns 8 in June. Just thinking about it makes me cry a little. But I'm not sure if I'm crying because I'll still have my hideous braces on then or if it's because he's getting so grown up. I'm sure it's both. ;)

She's gorgeous and she's lucky she has a photographer for a mother. If you lived by me I'd have you take some cute pics of Levi for his baptism day.

Also, although your comment from your brother Dan is mean, I'm laughing histerically at it. So funny!

These are absolutely amazing! You are so right - I know before long, my little girl will be this old. It's so nice you'll have such beautiful pictures to look back on!

These are priceless. The dress is beautiful and Hannah is the cutest little girl ever.

My favorite is the second to last one. Where did you take these pictures?

Brooke,

I took them at a beautiful greenhouse here in St. Louis. It's called the Jewel Box and they have weddings there at night, but during the day it's open to the public. A perfect spot. Glass walls - tons of light. Love it.

Oh, WOW! Those pictures are truly beautiful, Stie!

I love them all...I love how her hair is in motion in the one of her running...

You may have to hire a different photographer on her wedding day because you may be crying too much, huh? I would be :)

Don't worry...you can still take her official bridal pictures.

Hannah is so beautiful, but then again she is already well aware of that. Wonderful photos of a wonderful little girl!

It's totally not fair that kids grow up despite our best efforts to keep them young............

She's beautiful Christie. You captured the perfectly wonderful in her.

To have your baby grow up is painful.

Just surfing by. Nice blog.

The photo of her running is excellent. I'll remember that when I take pics of the grand daughter this summer.

How do can you possibly choose a favorite?! I so wished I could've had someone else responsible for pictures on Maya's baptism day. That was the day I learned that I love being the photographer when it's not on my kid's day. I'm not one that enjoys giving up control but I don't have even one shot of just her and I. So sad...

I found your blog by hitting the "next blog" button on my blog. I like snooping I guess. Anyway, your daughter is super cute, and yes, I understand the need for stockpiling tissues.

hi, hello, it's me.
I'm Shio's little sister, you know the one that lurks in the internet closet? Yeah well i've never acutally commented because i thought that that would be really stalker-ish and creepy, but now i see that there's actual stalkers and creepy people that take offense to self-humour.. so i feel justified in showing my blogger-face around these parts.
IIIIIII would just like to say that these pictures belong in a magazine.. HONESTLY!! Submit them or something! Want to take my senior pictures in two years time? haha :D

hello i'm nessa. just started this whole blogging thing. i ran into yours and it caught my eye. your daughter is very beautiful and your a great photographer. let me just say that her attitude will definately change over the years. this coming from a very confused 18 year old :p but you are a woman so you already know how we get as we are teenagers. Anyways, i think you have some good insight in life and well me doing this blogging thing is more about getting good advice and constructive critism. and since your a mother and a woman like myself you know way more than me and i don't listen to my own mother when i prob should but i figured its because she is my mom. well check out my blog if you would like and i hope your daughter doesn't grow up too quick on ya :)
