Drumroll, please

After much deliberation, much cooking, and many exclamations of joy, surprise, and delight from my family, we have chosen a winner in the little recipe contest.

I must tell you what a difficult decision it was. EVERYTHING you all sent me was so good. There was diet pepsi chicken (awesome!); Brittney's chicken with rosemary, lemon, and bacon; chicken and dumplings; lasagna; chicken picatta; and Jessica's flank steak, to name a few. My family has been in heaven for the last two months. And I have had an ever-ready stack of recipes from which to feed them.

I cannot tell you how happy you have made the Husband. He thanks you from the very bottom of his heart.

But, a winner there must be, and so, without further adieu, the winner is --

Lisa-Marie and her salsa chicken burritos

Email me your address and I will send you a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com. This recipe was hands-down the favorite. My children ate them cheerfully, even though onions, tomatoes, and green chilies were clearly visible. That, my friend, is no easy task. Plus, they were super easy and so, so good.

To everyone who played along - many thanks.

Ok you are missing something. We now need the recipe for these burritos!

I can't believe I am the first commenter. It's a good omen. It's going to be a good day. Even though there is no preschool and we are iced in our house all day.

OH! Stie I feel like such a loser for promising to send a recipe in and then forgetting. I hate when I am so flaky like that. Congrats to lisa-marie! It sounds like a recipe I have and I love it!

Hi there, Stie!

Would you mind posting the winning recipe on your blog? It came with such a great endorsement that I simply must try it :)!

Did you post the winning recipe?

Dang. I missed the chance to tell you about my white trash frito pie.

Well, I didn't prepare an acceptance speech or anything...But, I'm glad that you liked the recipe. Thanks ahead of time for the prize! I'm so excited to start browsing amazon!!!

I must say that I am a little nervous to be winning such an award. What if everyone else hates it?!?!? Oh well. I didn't make the thing up. It just happens to be my hubby's fave and mine too cause it is so darn simple! I even made it last night upon my re-entry from California. Throw it in the crock pot in the morning and don't think about it all day. (Except when you can smell it and you salivate!!!)

I'd be interested in all the other recipes as well. That includes Kristi's White Trash Frito Pie. Sounds like my kind of meal!

Fun contest. You never mentioned, exactly, how many recipes were entered...I can't imagine cooking that many different things. I am stuck in the routine of cooking the same things over and over. So, I agree, you must share this favorite recipe with all of us so we can try it!

Yes...please post recipes. Congrats to Lisa Marie...she's so cute!

I'm impressed that you took the time to cook them all! That means your family actually ate at home for quite a few days in a row. Wow!

On a selfish note...will you not only post the winner, but Jessica's Flank Steak recipe. We are strictly carnivorous around here and I think it may help...Uh...how does one spell carnivorous?

Hollyween said...

Yes please. I need the recipe! Oh, and so totally offended that you didn't choose MINE! HOW DARE YOU! Just kidding, of course. Do you think you could post ALL of them? I'm sick of everything I make. Seriously.

Jessica said...

You're sure it was better than mine?! I'm always the recipe winner. Oh Lisa-Marie is in big trouble.

Have you ever made cheese quesadillas (pronounced kay-sa-dee-ya)? They are really easy, just take a tortilla (pronounced tor-tee-ya), and put cheese on it, and put it in a frying pan, put another tortilla on top of the cheese, cook one side, and turn it over. And when that side is done, the quesadilla is all done. However it is sometimes hot, and you might want to let it cool down... You can also cut them really good with a pizza cutter, which is cool, because that makes pizza cutters more useful, than for just cutting pizza...

If you ever do another contest, you can enter this in as your entry and you would probably win...
