Goals for today

  1. Shower before seven p.m.
  2. NOT spend five hours browsing the internet in search of a dog we can't have.
  3. Finish the laundry I started yesterday (but didn't finish because I spent five hours browsing the internet for a dog we can't have. WHY do I want one so bad?).
  4. Find really good excuse to not hang out with the elderly woman from next door who keeps inviting me on outings. Ideas, anyone?
  5. Help in Hannah's class today and not get stuck by the boy who tells me each week how much he loves her and how pretty he thinks she is.
  6. NOT make or eat cookie dough.

Baby steps, people. Baby steps.

If you'd like a 110 pound yellow lab who is well-behaved, good with kids, house-trained and only slightly dependent and very hairy, my husband is trying to give ours away! You will have to pry Sampson out of my 1 year old's hands though!

I'm with you on the dog...I've been browsing the internet for a dog, too! We'll have to compare notes. I think we've finally worn G down :)

Good luck on your day. Who can blame Hannah's admirer?

Now I'm so curious: what sort of dog are you looking for? I want a Morkie (mixed breed) really bad. They are about 3 inches tall.

My mom is the QUEEN of extracting herself from the elderly ladies. I'll ask her for tips & get back to ya.

Thank you for letting me see that I am not the only one who struggles with finishing laundry and taking showers at acceptable times.... I think I'll treat myself to something sweet now! Any excuse is a good excuse!

Start swearing like a sailor and pretty soon that elderly lady will extract herself from you. That, or start asking her things like, "Are you as old as you smell?"

hee hee, you brighten my day stiesta. sadly, i have no pointers about the old lady..

and i think miss hannah will have suitors forever. she really is a princess. i thought of her the whole movie, Enchanted.

good luck. yeah, i'm off of cookie dough too. i always eat so much i'm not even in the mood for the actual cookie.

I'd think you'd be doing well to shower once a week, you stinky pig.

While yoga-breathing through my job-chart post, I forgot about my favorite OCD pal....YOU! Of course I should've just asked you to give me the goods so I can copy you.

Now spill it, sister. I'll be waiting with bated breath for a post outlining your job charts & sleep schedule.

You're looking for a Golden Retriever, right? My dad always says that every well-adjusted family should have a dog. (I'm not ready to make the leap, though...I'll wait until my kids are YOUR KIDS' AGE!) Just go for it! Keep browsing...showers before seven p.m. are over-rated anyway!

Plus, having a puppy will make for a lot of good posts!

I have been fighting the urge to get a dog too! I spent about an hour looking at dogs online the other night. DH says no way though.

Good luck on your list, and you are right: It is all about baby steps!

Good luck on the dog search! You'll know when it's time (or not). Bob does say every well adjusted family needs one. Is that because they need some majadjustment or something? Just kidding...dogs ARE great. Lots of work, but great!

Stie!

My kids were looking longingly at every dog in the park today and I was thinking of you. I wish I wanted a dog. Jake needs one for his best friend. Maybe you could come here and be a dog whisperer for our family.

What would possess you to want a dog???? Why not just have another baby? At least babies eventually grow up and learn to not pee and poop on the floor and can take themselves on a walk when they need exercise.

I'm with you on the shower thing. I need to get going in the mornings. Maybe I'd actually accomplish something around here.

ps Why can't you have a dog?

umm.. you can have my dog...I haven't slept in three nights! (and bedtime used to be my favorite past time). YEP, come take him... PLEASE.

Seriously, don't tease me. Did I mention that now with the dog, there are 6 males in the house... and me.

Sigh.

While cute and cuddly, a dog might just throw your OCD in overdrive. Isn't Mr. Tadpole-Soon to be Sir Croaks A Lot enough? Too slippery I guess...but no shedding!
Hope you met your other goals. Do you and your elderly neighbor knit, crochet or quilt when you get together? Maybe y'all should take a day trip to Branson together. ;)

I pretend that I like our dog but I sort of don't. He just has a weird personality. It irritates me that he won't leave his head down when I try to pet him. He always tries to sniff my face instead. So annoying.
But back to you... why can't you get a dog? Just do it.
And this is the first year that I can remember where I'm totally UNmotivated. What happened to the New Years resolutions? I have no idea. I feel proud of I'm showered by noon.

I want someone to get a dog. I need a grandpoopy! My advice is to get one.

Hannah has an admirer? That is so cute. Get a dog, then you can blame all the missing cookie dough on him...hee hee!

I'm with Bridget. People who want dogs should really just get a baby. Babies grow up. Dogs don't. Babies can go on vacations. Dogs can't. Babies wear diapers. Dogs poop on the floor. Babies smell good. Dogs stink.

Get a baby. Pleeeaaasse.

Hey, at least if you shower after 7 it can count for the next TWO days!

I wish someone would tell me they were in love with my kid. They just tell me all the naughty things she does. I agree about the baby. Babies are great.

Mom2My6Kids said...

Ha-Ha to the baby comments. But the next time I want a baby, I'm getting a dog! And I agree with Paige, a shower in the evening gets alot more mileage out of it. I mentioned to me doctor once that I was having a hard time getting things accomplished in the day. He told to me to make a goal to do only 3 things a day. That was it. So, I only do 3 things a day....Doctor's orders!!! I'm impressed that you can do 6. Your taking big baby steps!

You are just fun. That's all I wanted to say.
