Just when you think there's nothing to post about...

Last Friday, the Husband lost his iPad.

He left it on a Delta Airlines flight to who knows where.

Yes. The brand new iPad that I surprised him with on Christmas morning.

The iPad that I so sneakily hoarded funds in order to keep a surprise from him, rather than just plunking down the American Express.

And, due to my incredibly sneaky hoarding of funds, when its loss came to our life, there was no American Express to step up and replace it.

I asked. But, strangely, they weren't interested in replacing an iPad that they didn't help us purchase.

Jerks.

We both have been in mourning about it for several days now. [I mean, thank heavens our diamond shoes are still safe. At least THAT gives us some consolation in our bleak, bleak trials of life.]

Well, yesterday afternoon, the Husband received a call from Delta that we never thought would come.

The iPad? Not lost! Turned in by some good samaritan and on its way to St. Louis. It's traveled to a few cities and seen the sights, but it will be in our hot little hands come Wednesday.

I know it's trivial, and I know it's just a thing, but it makes me oh, so happy.

There really ARE some decent people left in the world.

And wherever they are, whatever they are doing, I hope life sends lots of good things their way.

Well it IS a thing, but it's an EXPENSIVE thing. Glad you're getting it back!

Check into "find my iPad" I can't remember if it costs extra but you can activate it in your settings and see on a map EXACTLY where it's at. You can also send a message to it, lock it, erase important info etc. all from your computer. I used this feature when I though my iPad got stolen. It turns out I left it in the hotel we had just stayed in. Being able to see it on the map let us know this is exactly where it was and not in some electronic gangster's chop shop, hacking all my important info.

That is pretty amazing that someone turned it in...that's awesome! Luckily it fell into the right hands.

My heart sank when I read this. My daughter left her iPod on a flight and we walked about 20 feet after getting off the plane and remembered, rushed back and the cleaning people had already gone thru and "did not find an iPod on the plane", yea right! Happy for your happy ending.

Sad story with a happy ending. And good to hear that goodness in people still exists. Congrats to you both!

That is AMAZING. I am so excited that it will be returned to you.

...and that is pretty sweet for the little iPad...you know...that it got to see the sights.

I loved the diamond shoes comment. I still think of that and wonder why people are so snarky.

What kind of idiot would give back an ipad that they rightfully found on an airplane seat.

That is AMAZING!!! I can hardly believe it. I had my canon digital rebel stolen/lost/something on a flight to St. Louis and it was never returned. I guess I should stop flying cheap on SouthWest and fly with the honest folks on Delta.

YEA!!! for you guys!
