A weekend so full of estrogen it will be scary

The boys are leaving this weekend to go and watch themselves a little college football game. Live and in-person, in the great state of Texas. (Which hopefully won't leave them too disappointed when if the Cougs lose.)

Ha. I say that as if I know what I'm talking about. Implying that I honestly care about college football.

I slay myself.

Anyhoo, the little Princess and I are on our own for the next few days, and, boy, has she ever got plans. She brought up a large stack of DVDs last night, informing me that THIS is what we'd be watching. I smiled as I noticed that my all-time favorite was at the top of the pile. Though she's tried many times to make it the whole five hours, she has never yet managed to stay awake long enough to meet the entertaining Mr. Collins, let alone see the love story through to the end. Something tells me this could be the time. FINALLY she will see Pemberly and understand why I swoon at the thought of Mr. Darcy jumping all sweaty and such into the water.

Her wanting to watch it also tells me that I am absolutely raising that girl right.

She also made a lengthy list of things she and I are to do while the boys are gone. Top of her list is shopping for clothes at the mall, shopping at the scrapbook store, actual scrapbooking, manicures & pedicures, and watching a lot of "girl movies."

I am pretty sure this will be the best weekend. EVER. Hope yours is, too.

P.S. Did you know a while back my brother Dan created a blog whose sole purpose is mocking me? Please pay him a visit and tell him how much you love me. That would tick him off something awful. While you're there, you can have a good laugh at what I looked like in sixth grade.

Yes, I know. Some things are just that frightening.

We're going camping this weekend but right about now, your weekend sounds A LOT better. I've been procrastinating all week so my to-do list is about a mile long.

Go cougars!

That weekend sounds great!!

Why is it that I never get to the actual scrapbooking? I love the buying stuff part...my husband calls me a, "collector", rather than a scrapbooker.

Now, I wanna watch P&P.

I can't wait for a girl's weekend that doesn't involve Dora or Strawberry Shortcake...
You two will have a blast.

The Cougars probably will lose, but that's ok, they will still have a great season. (spoken by another who doesn't really care, either but does her best)

What will happen when she turns preteen and REALLY gets a shot of estrogen? Oh, the blogs you'll be writing then!

You could do facial masks and put cucumbers on your eyes too. Have fun!

The fact that your brother spends so much time and energy mocking you just shows how enthralled he is with you.

Sounds like a fabulous weekend, Christie, although I wish you had come with the boys -- am just 30 minutes from the Cowboys Stadium! Have a blast with your sweet girl, these times are precious and few! (Can't wait to see pictures of your feet after the pedicure!) ;-)

That pic with you and grandma J is priceless. Did he go to your parents for that one? Or does he keep it on hand for whenever he needs to embarrass you?

Our husbands would be best friends. Now would be a good time to get ANYTHING you want out of Josh...I've honestly NEVER seen Joe happier than he is at this moment, less than an hour after BYU's victory. I seriously know what he would be like on Speed. He's that crazy-happy. I'm glad you got a girly weekend, because I just spent my evening in a testosterone-filled basement, cheering on the Cougs. I need to go watch Pride and Prejudice!

Did you ever see the video Ilene put on her blog about Mr Darcy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw7_UM
So funny.

I wish I had a brother to tease me. SO funny.

Wew saw your fine-looking men at the game. Seeing them was almost as fun as witnessing the Cougars' victory. I promise to provide the proof when I get a minute and upload pics.

GO COUGARS!!! I am actually jealous of your boys getting to be in Texas to watch the cougs pull out a major upset. It was a good one. Very intense. I love me some quality girly time, but I am so excited to have a little boy!
