Counting my blessings again

I have nothing for you here, my friends, but can send you elsewhere today for some of my words.

Mormon Women is featuring a post I wrote over a year ago that was definitely life-altering. Go check it out if you haven't read it yet or read it again if you need a reminder for yourself, like me, that somebody is watching out for you.

I still get chills when I think about what could have been. And I still tear up when I wonder why it wasn't.

God is good. And He blessed my little family in a very simple, yet profound, way.

Happy pretend Monday.

I remember reading that the first time. And after reading it again I still got chills! How cool that so many others can read it too.

Wow. I don't think I was a reader last June. That is an amazing story. He works in mysterious ways.

I've been meaning to document our house fire for months. You've motivated me to do it sooner rather than later. I know EXACTLY how you felt/feel. I'm so glad everything worked out so well for you family.

You said in that story that you "swear sometimes". Actually, you swear a lot. You probably single handed-ly paid for our Disneyland trip when we were younger from your contributions to the "swear jar". Me on the other hand, I don't swear... But I am really good at pointing out other people's faults.

Even with that aside, I am glad that you were woken up that day...

I needed that reminder--or at leanst to be reminded to listen to promptings. I have a hard time differentiating between them and random paranoid thoughts I'm trying to ignore. It's good to know Heavenly Father loves us, and our children even more.

Believe it or not, I have thought of this post from over a year ago frequently since I first read it. It was beautifully written and perfect and most of all it really was a miracle.

I would tear up, too when I wondered, "why it wasn't". I LOVE that it is posted over on Mormon Women.

I'm so grateful that you woke up that night. I'm also glad you were able to share this story through another outlet for more people to see. It is a great reminder for all of us that we REALLY are being watched over. We just need to take a minute and recognize it.
