The baptism

Photobucket

This past weekend, my baby girl was baptized.

My heart was so full. In the only quiet moment of the day, as I was helping her get dressed, I paused for a minute. I held my Hannah and told her how proud I was of her, and how much I truly loved her. She didn't fidget, play with my earrings, or roll her eyes - as she is sometimes fond of doing. She looked me square in the eye, and I felt our souls connect. She threw her arms around my neck, and pulled back with tiny tears on her cheeks, matching my own.

"I love you, too, Mama," she whispered.

It was a moment I will never forget.

This is truly the joy and rejoicing in posterity.

This post made me tear up at my desk at work. Someone came by and asked if I was okay and I had to tell them I accidentally bit my tongue. This is too precious.

We're so proud of your family! Sorry we couldn't come out- plane tickets be pricey, even to see such an awesome sister.

Wow. What a beautiful moment!
I know I am going to sound so foolish, but it seriously never occurred to me that other daughters rolled their eyes at their moms...
Seriously.
What an epiphany.

You captured this special moment in Hannah's life so beautifully in both pictures and words. No blurry pictures either to taunt you for the rest of your life.

I love all of the pictures! Your parents and in-laws are so cute! I really love the picture of you and Hannah on the baptism post...so sweet! By the way...today I was looking at names in our family history trying to get some inspiration for my baby. I saw tons of Hannah's...is that how you got her name, or is it just a coincidence that we have lots of "Hannah" ancestors. Such a sweet name, and such a sweet girl!
