The rain? It was bad. And I honestly don't think I could have taken much more of it.
So last week when the sun finally poked her lovely yellow face out, and we got temperatures in the glorious high-70s for days at a time, I remembered why I like it here. And one quiet morning, as I walked through my house, it seemed to me as though the sun was spilling in through each and every window - coming in on all sides of the house. The laws of physics make this an impossible task, I know, but photographic proof tells otherwise.
Because sunshine? Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy.
[And sunshine on my dirty floors even makes me happy.]
Tell me, dear readers, is it sunny there today? And if so, got room on your couch for one more?

Your house is so beautiful! The pictures really look like they were taken for a magazine. It is fun to get a glimpse of your amazing home. I hope the sun comes back soon!
Well, after days and days and days of fog and rain here in Portland, it IS actually sunny this morning. But cold. And I have really dirty floors. Your house is beautiful--I'd love to see more!
I was just about to leave the same comment as your reader above. It is sunny in the Pacific Northwest so come on over!

I really like how your blog tackles all of the tough issues of the day. Very enlightening.
It's always sunny in CA. Which is why we have the million dollar mortgages. That first picture is so gorgeous on the thumbnail it looked like you had pretty red leaf curtains!
It is a perfect Fall day. Makes me want to bake an apple pie.
I agree with Christina!!! Sun is here-snow is on it's way-pretty sure you just want to stay where you are! Need a good freaky book??? Have you read The Hunter Games? Seriously need to if your answer is no.
I love your house. It is beautiful. I'd be happy there with or without the sun but I agree--the sun makes everything better.
I think your house is the cleanest house I have ever seen.
I don't even want to think about my house right now...
Sunny here. But not close to the 70s. Let's escape to Hawaii.
Saturday we had planned to take family pictures. It rained 3.5 inches. We didn't get pictures done.
Today is sunny out but chilly, and the clouds are moving this way. That's part of living in the Pacific Northwest though. :)
I live in Seattle. Your pictures of sunshine are offensive and envy inducing. I need vitamin D and a SAD light after seeing this post.
And some chocolate.
K all I can see is your AWESOME furniture!!
MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SHOULDN'T SAY BAD WORDS. I KNOW YOU DIDN'T A SAY ONE ON THIS POST, BUT IN THE FUTURE YOU SHOULDN'T SAY BAD WORDS, LIKE YOU SAID A COUPLE TIMES IN THE PAST!!!!!! ( EXAMPLE- Hang the @!#$ lights on the &%*@ tree. ( %$#$#= BAD WORD)
Big fan of the sun too. I must know what you use to clean your hardwood floors - they are gorgeous.
Yes, the sunshine is lovely....but what I really want to know is how you keep your house so clean?!?!? Do tell! :)
This is kind of off of the subject but I think you have such lovely home. I love the way you have decorated and the colors you used.
We are having the rain from the tropical depression that came up from the gulf...so...you are welcome to come watch a movie with me...it is dark in my house today and rain is expected tomorrow, too.
We could just drown our sorrows in some cookie dough. I know...I am a good friend, huh?
How pretty is your house!
It is the third day of 100 + degree weather here. Heat wave! I'd swap you for rain in a instance. Melting!
We must have sent our 3 weeks of straight overcast and rain your way -- I'm so glad Dallas is back to it's normal, sunny self! Our high today was 75 degrees with lots of sun!
Let's house swap! Phoenix, AZ -It's 90 degrees in November!! Nearly mid-month! I no longer have a need for sweaters.
Great house - awesome pictures. One question - did you have to clear of your desk to take the picture? I know with three kids, your busy & there are lots of school papers that come home (I have 4 kids). If you can shed some light on paper control - that would be great...thanks!
Reporting from Illinois....cloudy and rainy. Definitely feels like November. No snow yet but any day now...
P.S. - LOVE YOUR HOUSE!! Let's see more of it!
Your gleaming, clean house puts the sun into the shade. I have OCD-envy!
I was reading in bed today during Baby Jack's naptime. And I love you, but you're not invited into bed to read.
Well, okay. But it'll have to be head-to-toe.
(snicker)
HA! (great big, huge honk-laugh!!!)
Did McKay & Chase really write that funny comment?!? If so, may I borrow them to come and be friends with my Max, age 10?
It's always sunny here...don't hate. You are welcome anytime really. I would like to come hang out in your leather chair and we can eat cake. Okay?
Your house is absolutely beautiful!! can i have it?
Would love to invite you over, but remnants of Ida is visiting so no sun here. Rainy and windy right on through the weekend!!
I love the sun in the fall and winter--it's so low on the horizon that it really shines into the house (versus ON the house). It just fill my soul. Your pictures brought back all those sunny feelings!
It's sunny here today. Come quick! Before you miss it!
Love the pictures.......where did you get that fabulous quilt?
Clean house= sunny day. Thank you for making me feel all calm on the inside with the cleanliness. That is how I feel about that. And I love the brick around your fireplace. And,...this has nothing to do with anything but I would like some See's Candy right now.
It's always sunny in AZ. Come on over. I tried to get you to move here! I love the boys comment!
Very random - how do you keep your hardwood floors clean? Care to share your tips? With 2 boys (3 and 1.5), 2 dogs and a husband, I feel like I could clean mine every 2 minutes!
I love love love Mr Sunshine and I'm really lovin' your dining room!
It's not the sun I need...it's the warmth. We've got all the sun we could ask for right now, but that doesn't mean we're not freezing. Let's hope it's a mild, short winter.
