Things I learned this week

  • A good pediatrician is worth his weight in gold.
  • The best thing about moving to Missouri is not having to take a written test to get a driver's license. (Those tests literally give me panic attacks. I'm not kidding.)
  • When Hannah has two loose teeth that are barely hanging on by a thread, only the Husband will be allowed to touch them or pull them out. (no complaints here)
  • It is a lucky thing, indeed, for a mama to sit bolt upright in bed in the middle of the night and remember that the tooth fairy needs to make a visit.
  • When the temperature cools down to a chilly 92 degrees, you really can feel the difference.
  • There are some things that just won't turn up after a move. Important things like cancelled license plate receipts from other states who are insisting you pay them taxes for vehicles no longer registered there.
  • The husband will invariably get the blame for said lost receipts.
  • Meeting new friends at a Bunko night warms my lonely little heart.
  • You should not start the Twilight series unless you have three days to plow through them. Because you WILL NOT be able to stop once you start. And there will be children begging for trifles like food and clean laundry.
  • You should always have a trip to look forward to (NYC in six weeks - yay!).
  • It should never be a surprise to wear out a blow dryer when you spend 20 minutes a day using it to burn your hair into submission.
  • It IS an annoying surprise every time.

I started keeping a spare blowdryer that I stole from my mom. (hey - she was going to throw it away!) because the blow dryer will ALWAYS blow out when you HAVE to look nice.

I gave up on hair dryers long ago (or diffusers in my curly case). Not coincidentally, it occured around the same time I stopped working and staying at home. I think the SAHM-drowned-rat-let-it-air-dry look is IN!

Hannah lost a tooth? First kindergarten, now she's lost a tooth...since when did she think she could grow up? I think they need to ask our for our permission or something!

So true!!! After having just made a move, I can totally relate. Oh...about the weather, we are beginning to think we've been really bad and have been moved to hell! It's pretty bad when you think 92 degrees is a cold snap. Also...Bunko night??? One of my attempts to meet friends found me at the Republican Women's luncheon that someone talked me into going to. Now that's desperation! I love ya! Reading your blog is a bright spot in my day!

In a fit of I compulsive shopping, I "had" to buy all 3 books at once, but I've been holding off starting because I'm scared I won't be able to put them down to do anything else. I could put a lot of food on the bottom fridge shelf and see how A. does, that might buy me some time. :)

Glad you had fun at Bunko!

Good recap for this week.
Funny story- a little church friend showed up at church one sunday all upset because the tooth fairy didn't show up the night before. Another boy in his primary class said, "Hey Jackson, it's ok, don't you know the tooth fairy has 72 hours to bring you money and take your tooth?" That had me rolling!! Obviously the 2nd boys parents had forgotten a time or too as well. It happens to everyone- but you are lucky that you had that bolt in the middle of the night and didn't have any explaining to do!

Glad you found a bunko group. And even more happy to hear that you were able to save the tooth fairy from a nasty letter.
