The sun'll come out tomorrow...

During the month of October, I think the sun forgot about us good people of Missouri. It rained and rained. And then when it was done raining, it rained some more. At one point, I turned to the Husband and asked him if he had moved us back to the East Coast without telling me.

The rain? It was bad. And I honestly don't think I could have taken much more of it.

So last week when the sun finally poked her lovely yellow face out, and we got temperatures in the glorious high-70s for days at a time, I remembered why I like it here. And one quiet morning, as I walked through my house, it seemed to me as though the sun was spilling in through each and every window - coming in on all sides of the house. The laws of physics make this an impossible task, I know, but photographic proof tells otherwise.

Because sunshine? Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy.

[And sunshine on my dirty floors even makes me happy.]

Sigh. Too bad the sun is elsewhere today. What I wouldn't give to sit in my living room, the sun warming my toes through the window, while I plow my way through a good novel.

Tell me, dear readers, is it sunny there today? And if so, got room on your couch for one more?

  11. Saturday we had planned to take family pictures. It rained 3.5 inches. We didn't get pictures done.

Today is sunny out but chilly, and the clouds are moving this way. That's part of living in the Pacific Northwest though. :)

  17. This is kind of off of the subject but I think you have such lovely home. I love the way you have decorated and the colors you used.

We are having the rain from the tropical depression that came up from the gulf...so...you are welcome to come watch a movie with me...it is dark in my house today and rain is expected tomorrow, too.

We could just drown our sorrows in some cookie dough. I know...I am a good friend, huh?

  20. Let's house swap! Phoenix, AZ -It's 90 degrees in November!! Nearly mid-month! I no longer have a need for sweaters.
Great house - awesome pictures. One question - did you have to clear of your desk to take the picture? I know with three kids, your busy & there are lots of school papers that come home (I have 4 kids). If you can shed some light on paper control - that would be great...thanks!

  35. It's not the sun I need...it's the warmth. We've got all the sun we could ask for right now, but that doesn't mean we're not freezing. Let's hope it's a mild, short winter.
