You have the camera ready to go on the tripod, and the remote in your hand.
You both smile, and the shutter clicks.
Well, what happens when your middle child, unbeknownst to you, decides to sneak himself into the picture?
This, my friends, is what happens:
Looks like it's cropping for this photo. Unless we want to commemorate the dive Chase took?
No, I don't think so. But I'm a fair minded person. And I've always thought that the punishment should fit the crime.
So here's a little shot of him that I'm sure he'd rather have buried in the archives for all eternity: I know. I'm such a mean mom.
Mean? Doubtful.
ReplyDeleteHystercial? Yes.
Me still loving your "new" do? Way!
How funny! I love the picture of the child dashing behind you though - It makes for a great picture where everyone would get a good chuckle from it. Pair that one with the dress-up pic and you've got a side splitter for sure!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day!
Kristin
Hilarious! I love your kids, they are awesome.
ReplyDeletethat is perfectly classic!
ReplyDeletei have a feeling that won't be last he sees of that pink dress-up photo...seminary graduation, wedding breakfast, campaign ads...
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! That is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteWe had a photo mishap a week ago. And, we got all ready and just before my friend was going to come...there were tears and irritation. And, I had to call and tell her not to come. So sad. Glad you still got you and your husband.
Cute necklace by the way!
Mean but effective!!!
ReplyDeleteTurn about is always fair play!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! That could easily happen in my house too. Him in the pink dress - priceless. That can be used for years to come.
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh!!! How in the world did you get both boys to dress up for that? They will regret that picture more every year!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it.
ReplyDeleteI think the picture with him in the background has personality!
Frame it. Put it up.
It will be a topic for conversation and laughs everytime someone sees it.
And he would be totally embarrassed...
Do you have a lot of brown shirts? Because it looks like you're wearing the same brown shirt in the upper right hand corner of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI would expect nothing less from you Christie. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of being a mom is having all the "dirt" to pull out on your kids when their actions necessitate it. Or, of course, when it's just fun to embarrass them, like when they go on their first date...
ReplyDeleteAt least they committed on dress up day. Right down to the shoes, which, let's face it, make or break any outfit.
ReplyDeleteI am LOVING these pictures! You are a HOOT!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the way your hair is too! You are such a cutie! It's such a nice picture of you and your hubby!
And the kids...to die for! LOVING IT!
I think even with the cropping that the picture is a great one of you and your hubby. Gotta love kids. Oh my goodness you cracked me up with that last picture. He is so gonna live to regret it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that's a pretty darn good looking couple in those pictures. It is so fun to see your family. Thanks for blogging. It's great to feel like I know a portion of your story. Sure do love you. Bribery pictures do come in handy sometimes. Funny girl!
ReplyDeleteI hardly noticed Chase...I was loving your necklace and hair!
ReplyDeleteBrown is the new black, make sure your ornery brother knows that.
ReplyDeleteYou're MY KIND OF MOM!!!!
Love it, save the picture of the boy for their wedding slide show, too funny.
ReplyDeletePayback is a beeotch!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous.
I hope you have that princess picture saved on a cd...you wouldn't want him figuring out how to delete it! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOVE it.
ReplyDeleteYour hair, btw, looks FABULOUS!!!
Thank goodness for the wonders of photo editing. Love the blackmail picture!
ReplyDeletetoo funny! how in the world did you get the boys to not only dress up, but pose for a photo dressed like that?!!!
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up! This kid in my family is McKay... always in the picture somehow and blocking the main attraction... MEEEE! :) P.S. I got my hair chopped too! Visit my blog and see!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes and dresses look like they fit the boys a little too well. Have they done this before? Is this a recurring punishment?
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh, you got him good. HA! Mommy's Revenge is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Keep a copy of these pics with you at all times. As the teen years arrive they will come in very handy.
ReplyDeleteThere is no face on the legs...did he deny it was him. He may use that tactic in the future. You two look GREAT!
ReplyDeleteBoth YOU and the Husband look great in the picture. I'm with Shally...I kind of like the "Chase in the background" picture...it does indeed have personality!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the last picture is the footwear. They are gonna cringe if you pull that out one day.
You are a great mom!
He's all a blur in the background...too funny.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous. You have a piece of bribery that will be priceless someday soon.
ReplyDeleteI can see mothers everywhere wondering how they can digitally recreate this for their own use someday!
Don't you just LOVE blackmail photos? I have a few of those tucked away for a special day...By the way, nice pic of you and your man!
ReplyDeleteWe always need a little blackmail in our back pocket.
ReplyDeleteBTW...love that necklace!
That comment from Scott? That was actually me, Jenibelle, who did not know that Scotty had a google account and now he is so busted.
ReplyDeleteokay, i am the strightforward one of the bunch, so i'll just ask it.
ReplyDeletedid i miss something or did you get new boobs?
Wow--
ReplyDelete{That's really really not very fair to poor McKay though...}
Should come in VERY handy for you and any future coersion you might be forced to conduct in their teen years!
:)

Love the bribery photo!!!
