Having a little craving today

  1. Oh now you have gone and done it. I HAVE to watch the movie! You put the itch in me. First I'll watch this version then I'll watch the new one. Hmmm, a day full of P&P could anything be better than that???

  2. Oh yes--I can always do with a little Darcy! (and the husband is gone today, he he he!
I've been a long-time lurker. I know your husband's family. They actually lived in my family's house for a year while we lived in Arizona! maiden name-melissa bunting

  5. Colin Firth was made to be Mr. Darcy. That's all I can say. When I see him dressed in modern clothes I am startled.

  8. This movie is totally frustrating to me! I want them to SPEAK! JUST SAY IT! The whole English innuendo thing does not work for me. They are thinking over everything they want to say, but never saying what they think!!!!

  9. "The man himself, I presume!!"

    Mmmmm... love me some Darcy.

I agree, Gab. It's always a bit odd to see Colin (we're on a first name basis, you know) outside of his Darcy-skin.

    Thank you.

  11. Oh, my, yes. Lovely, lovely man. Delicious movie.

I remember your outrage when we went to the newest P&P and that Mr. Darcy just didn't do it for you.

    Colin. Sigh.

  14. Thank you Stie, just on Sunday I said something to my little young women about P&P. They started to launch in Kiera Knightly at which point I stopped them--I have not seen the new one, nor that (ahhh, I can't even say it) mormon version and will never see them. Any good girl knows there is one and only one Mr. Darcy. I am beginning to convert them. Miss Knightly just lets her mouth hang open far too often for any proper English lass. And my pity goes out to the man who tries to follow our dear Colin. p.s. I love your brother Dan's comments always!

  15. Can I admit that I have read the book but not seen the movie? Will I be shot?

  16. Bridget, I don't know if we can be friends until you watch it. There is no Mr. Darcy but my man Colin. The new attempt at remaking this classic was HORRID. If you watch that, we also cannot be friends. The ugly shag-dog they got to play Mr. Darcy looked so much like John Cusack that I expected him to try and woo Kiera with a boom box outside of her window. It was awful.

I think a P&P party is in order. My house. This weekend. Be here or else!

  17. I'll be there. Let me grab my car keys and punch your address into the nav. Ol' Darcy is worth any road trip it takes.

  18. Oh, sista. That is one of the sexiest movie scenes ever. Mr. Darcy in his skivvies...scandalous! Lizzie gets to see some (gasp) skin below the throat.

Seriously, IS there any other version??? I absolutely get the dry heaves when the girlfriends want to watch that bizarro-world P&P. (remember Bizarro Jerry on "Seinfeld"?)

  19. p.s. I'm there for the P&P Party. Name your time.

  23. "...and just as handsome as in his portrait! Though perhaps a little less formally attired..."

Seriously, that is the best moment in the whole book! Puts Darcy in his PLACE!

  25. Hiya. I'm embarrassed to say haven't seen the movie, either. Read the book like 14 times and worried the movie would ruin it for me. I feel chagrined and admonished and shall rent it at once.
Love your sexy new profile pick by the way. GRrrrawl...(my sad attempt at a sexy growl)

  26. Ahhh, hunky Colin...to DIE for. Hands down this is the best, and in my opinion, only worthwhile version of P&P. Laurence Olivier wasn't bad, but still...Colin. What were they thinking with Kiera Knightly and Whoever Guy?
